How to Solve a Crime

Solving a crime is a process that takes a lot of work, there is many things that you have to do very carefully and in a specific way so that nothing gets messed up and they are able to solve the crime successfully.

The first thing that happens in the crime solving process is the Scene of Crime Officers are called onto the scene. The job of a Scene of Crime Officer is to go to the crime scene and collect all the evidence. They are part of the police force but are specially trained to investigate crime scenes. The first thing they do when they get to the crime scene is walk through of where it happened with their hands in their pockets and talk to the first person on the scene that noticed the crime. The reason they keep their hands in their pockets is so that the evidence doesn't get disturbed and they can still solve the crime. When the officers walk through they try and get a picture in their head of what happened and what the victim or person who was first on the scene already knows.

After they walk through the crime scene they then start on collecting evidence. Because there is usually two officers that come to the scene, one of the officers work on the outside of the building or place and the other works on the inside and where the crime actually happened. The most common exit and entry points are in through a window and out through a door, so the officer working outside will collect fingerprints from the windows, and the one inside would usually take fingerprints from the area that has been effected, not normally from door handles because they are used by too many people. The way they collect finger prints is dust them with a brush and some powder and then lift them on a gel pad so that they can be sent off to be analyzed. Any other evidence is picked up too, such as ransom notes, shoe prints, hair or any other items the offender could have left behind.

Once collected, the evidence is sent off to the forensic scientists. The job of the forensic scientists is to look at all the evidence collected and see if it will give them any clues as to who committed the crime. Then they will have to get detectives to find and interview suspects and witnesses. People can be suspects for all sorts of reasons, being seen near the crime scene, acting suspicious or anything else that has made someone believe that you have committed the crime. Witness can also be suspects sometimes if they are acting suspicious or seem to know too much. When the witnesses and suspects are interviewed the detectives have to make sure that what they have said fits with other people’s stories and their alibis can be backed up. After this has happened the detectives will collects samples of fingerprints, shoe prints, hair, pens or anything else they might need and get the forensic scientists to see if it matches any evidence from the crime scene. Then once they have all their results from testing and questioning they can figure out who committed the crime.

Once the crime is solved the investigation is closed and the offender will face serious consequences, the punishment depending on what the crime was and how it was committed.

Excuses For Not Doing Your Homework

Have you ever got to school and tried to explain to your teacher off the top of your head why you didn’t do your homework? More often than not the story you come up with is unbelievable. This is why you need this explanation, for more believable excuses that you will definitely get away with.

First you must get your story straight. If you don’t do this you will find that people will think everything you are saying is made up. You also kneed to make sure that your story doesn't have to much detail or it will be obvious you are being specific just to make your story seem more real. You need a balance between giving too much detail and not enough for a real sounding story.

Being imaginative, but no to imaginative is important too. It needs to be a story that teachers probably won’t have heard before but still believable. Using things like “My dog ate my homework” will definitely not work because they have probably heard it before.

If you are using excuses involving hurting yourself you will kneed to be careful too incase they want to know more detail or see your injury. For an Ideal injury story bandaging you writing hand and saying that you hurt it the night before and couldn’t write anything or move your fingers will work really well. Saying you spent most of your night in a hospital or something because you were with a sick or injured family member is also good, as long as you add random detail to the story for a realistic effect.

As I have just said there is more to an excuse than just making up something that could be proved wrong instantly with a few questions and your answers not matching up. So now have you learnt something about good excuses? I hope I have made getting out of work easier for you.

As we all know a flower is a plant that is often small and pretty looking. For flowers to grow, like humans they must have a mixture of the right things for them to be their best. The process of growing a flower is called photosynthesis. Without photosynthesis flowers would stay in their seeds and not grow.

Flowers start off as seeds. When you first plant the seeds you will need to make sure that they get water and sunlight, so plant them in a place that they will get hit by the sun. Also once you have planted them you will need to water them.

Plants turn carbon dioxide to sugars which allows them to grow. The flower will always grow towards the light which is why they grow up. If you have an indoor plant with the only light above it the plant will become very tall and skinny.

Flowers need water because without it the flower would dry up and die, therefore water is a very important
part of the flower growing process. To grow a flower, depending on what type it is, you will need to water it regularly some more often than others.

I think that flowers are great and without them the world would be boring.

You have written a general statement at the start of your writing and you have written in present tense. You have also put it in an order and your writing is not all over the place

Light is something that allows us to see. It reflects off objects and forms colours that will make things visible to us. Light’s movement is always in a straight line and dose not bend or curve in any way. Light is heated and it can be natural or artificial.

Light travels at an unimaginable speed. It is amazingly fast, there is yet to be anything that can equal it.
